Our History

Dave O’Leary, a 1951 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the father of Mark O’Leary and Sean O’Leary (Bio), was hired by Barry Lind and founded the Carroll, Iowa Branch Office of Lind-Waldock in 1965, serving customers primarily in western Iowa. In 1980 Lind-Waldock became the nation’s first discount commodity broker and the Iowa Branch’s territory expanded to serve Lind-Waldock’s futures and options customers in the states of Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. Lind-Waldock was sold in 2000 and as of 2011 the brand name no longer exists. In 2008 our office became incorporated as Hawkeye Commodity Brokers, Inc. Hawkeye is now a Guaranteed Introducing Broker to RJ O’Brien and Associates. Mark O’Leary and Sean O’Leary are the principal owners of Hawkeye and have combined 50-plus years of experience as registered commodity representatives.
